jewbuzz heads to Cyprus to meet the medical students!

For four years, jewbuzz has been working with GEDS to introduce its community to health studies in Cyprus. This time, the team got on a plane to see first-hand how the 120 future healthcare professionals based there live and study.

Quatre ans de collaboration, puis une immersion au cœur de la vie étudiante.

It all began with a challenge: raising awareness of a still little-known alternative for French students wanting to go into health studies. Four years later, the collaboration between jewbuzz and GEDS has changed scale.

Becoming a doctor, dentist, physiotherapist or vet without necessarily following the French university path: that is the subject GEDS asked jewbuzz to introduce to its community four years ago.

The destination may come as a surprise: Cyprus.

Courses taught in English, a European degree, modern facilities and the possibility of getting to Israel quickly: the project had everything it needed to appeal to part of the jewbuzz community.

A collaboration that began 4 years ago

Since the partnership began, jewbuzz and GEDS have rolled out new campaigns every year to present these programmes and answer the questions of interested students.

Over the successive intakes, some decided to take the plunge and go and study in Cyprus.

Four years on, 120 future doctors, dentists, physiotherapists and vets are studying in Cyprus.

A figure that made jewbuzz want to go and see what was really happening on the ground.

This time, jewbuzz went to see for itself

Rather than continuing to present the courses from Paris or through a conventional campaign, the jewbuzz team headed to Cyprus.

The goal: meet the students directly, discover their facilities and, above all, ask them the questions anyone considering the move might have.

What are the classes really like? What does student life look like? How do you organise yourself if you want to eat kosher? And what is it like living far from your family?

All topics discussed directly with those living this experience every day.

Giving the students a voice

That is precisely what sets this new stage of the partnership apart.

This time, it is no longer just jewbuzz or GEDS presenting the programme: the students themselves tell their own story.

In front of the jewbuzz microphone, they talk about their daily lives, their studies, settling in in Cyprus and the particularities of student life thousands of kilometres from France.

More than 150,000 views in one week

The report quickly found its audience across jewbuzz’s various platforms.

More than 150,000 views in just one week.

A result that confirms the community’s strong interest in questions of studies and career guidance.

But it also illustrates how the partnership has evolved: after several years of campaigns, jewbuzz has now gone directly to meet those who made the choice presented a few years earlier.

When a campaign becomes a story to follow

For jewbuzz, this collaboration with GEDS also shows the value of partnerships built over time.

A first campaign introduces a project. The following ones make it possible to follow its progress, and then to meet those who finally decided to go for it.

Four years after the first content, jewbuzz was thus able to find in Cyprus a genuine community of students in medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy and veterinary science.

From the first campaign to the immersion on campus, four years have gone by. A collaboration that shows a media partnership can also be built, followed and grown over time.
